On Tuesday, January 30th, the Hall of Presidents
in Disneyworld’s Magic Kingdom held the first ever State of the Kingdom Address
delivered by the animatronic of Donald Trump. Though out of season for the
park, the hall was packed by fans of the new animatronic, others that were not so
crazy about the audio animatronic, and a select few invited guests and cast
members.
Early on, it appeared as if the animatronic president was undergoing
at least a partial malfunction. For many
of the park goers in attendance, the animatronic president did not even turn to
meet them. He was locked dead fast on one side of the room; the side which always
seemed to deliver the loudest applause. Also, after nearly every remark made by
the animatronic president, he was locked into his applause subroutine; apropos or
not.
Hoping that the show was over, the audience kept clapping
and rising to their feet, but the park cast members made sure that they were
held within the hall for the duration of the animatronic president’s nearly
hour and a half long speech.
The animatronic president doubled down on his earlier
remarks regarding park hopping guests and showing the proper respect during
park activities. “We are going to erect a great, big, beautiful wall around Frontierland.
We have had more criminals come over from Tom Sawyer Island, and the Swiss
Family Robinson Treehouse.” The Frontierland wall was a major point during the
manufacturing of the animatronic POTUS. Many were hopeful that his continued
mentioning of the wall meant that he was working harder than ever on it.
The android president brought up the need to show proper respect during certain park activities. “Brave men and women worked hard, so that we could have the park that we have today. That is why it is truly disgusting to see children seated or kneeling during the Mickey Mouse Club March.”
In addition to the wall, animatronic Trump emphasized the
need for a better park infrastructure. “We are going to build beautiful roads,
bridges, tunnels to the Magic Kingdom, to Epcot, to Hollywood Studios; without
having to wait ten years on a grand unveiling.”
He addressed a recent topic of interest that had garnered a
good amount of attention in the hall; the Universal dreamers; a term used to describe many children who
are taken to Universal Studios at a young age who want instead to be taken to Disneyworld. He said that some of the people who were coming from the other park were
not wholesome, or potentially dangerous. He reminded the park goers of his ongoing proposal to allow some of the Universal dreamers into the park if he gets the funding for
his Frontierland wall.
At several points, the animatronic president took the time
to point out several invited park goers and cast members in the hall. He told
the tale of a cast member who, when a child was crying within the park, replaced
the cone with a smile, and this story garnered another standing ovation. This
story was one of many that the animatronic president used to push his policy
and tout his values.
The curtain closed and the parkgoers eventually dispersed. There
were still a variety of questions hanging over people’s heads. The response from
the Six Flags representatives called the animatronic president’s speech
deplorable, and they brought up the unspoken issue of the potential Busch
Gardens Collusion in the animatronic president’s manufacturing.
